Comments ~~~~~~~~ The second Hurricane Carter Benefit concert in Houston ("Night Of The Hurricane 2") in January 1976 has been included in the first Rolling Thunder Revue tour as this concert is musically more like the fall shows than the shows of the second tour later in 1976. Recommended shows: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Providence November 4, evening Boston November 21, evening Montreal, December 4 - probably one of Dylan's best shows ever! New York City, December 8 - "Night Of The Hurricane" Rare songs from this tour: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ With God On Our Side - first live since Royal Albert Hall May 1965, then played once in 1982 and once in 1984 and finally at the New York shows in Oct 1988. Dark As A Dungeon - only played on this tour before London Jan 1990! Note that Like A Rolling Stone is NOT played. Very unusual. Songs from DESIRE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dylan is really promoting his new and aside from the Hurricane single unreleased record on this tour. RENALDO & CLARA This film was shot during the first Rolling Thunder Revue tour. Sam Shepard was hired as script writer, but produced no script, instead the "diary" Rolling Thunder Logbook [2]. Dylan and Howard Alk spent large part of 1977 editing the film and it was first released January 25, 1978. Renaldo & Clara contains some forty-five minutes of VERY good live footage as well as a "background music" taken from the October rehearsals.
